Starting fall 2026, UMN Libraries users will be able to check out new Tabletop Roleplaying Game Kits from Walter Library. We will be rolling out more information soon, so stay tuned!

Titles will include:

• Apocalypse World: a post-apocalyptic setting with themes of survival and relationships, with a focus on creating a shared world together.
• Blades in the Dark: a stealth and heist-based game about scoundrels making a living in a Gothic-inspired steampunk setting.
• Butter Princess: a funny (and locally created!) game about stealing the prize-winning butter sculpture from the State Fair.
• Call of Cthulhu: a psychological, Lovecraftian horror game about messing with forces beyond human comprehension.
• Cyberpunk RED: a futuristic sci-fi setting with cybernetically enhanced characters, evil mega-corporations, and a whole lot of neon.
• Dungeons & Dragons: the classic TTRPG, now in Edition 5.5! Go on adventures in a magic-filled fantasy setting, doing anything as small as clearing a dungeon to as big as saving the world.
• Fiasco: a no-GM, no-prep game about creating and playing out a web of relationships among some truly terrible people, in which everything inevitably goes wrong.
• Honey Heist: you’re a bear, but you really want honey. Obviously the best way to do that is to disguise yourself as a human and steal it. An excellent option for new players and GMs!
• Monster of the Week: inspired by shows like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The X-Files, and Supernatural, play as a group of monster hunters facing down the things that go bump in the night in this action-horror game.
• Pathfinder: the second edition of the open-source fantasy roleplaying game! Originally based on D&D3.5e, this game is great for fans of TTRPGs who want something more unique, a little crunchier on the rules, and with more customizable characters.
• Vampire the Masquerade: a Gothic-punk game about vampires fighting against hunters, each other, and sometimes their own natures. Note that this game gets dark (thematically) – think Nosferatu and Dracula, not Twilight.
