Need a study break? Want to catch your breath after the first week of the semester? Spend a cozy afternoon relaxing and reading in the unique Upson room (102) in Walter Library. Bring a book to read, select one from a pop-up library of fun books, try out the Libby app for ebooks and audiobooks, or just come hangout with fellow readers. Members of the University Book Club will be on hand too.
There will be warm beverages and snacks to enjoy. With the recent 100 anniversary of Walter Library — we go back to the origins of room 102. On the architectural drawings it was labeled the “standard library.” The purpose was to provide a place for students to read for pleasure and enjoyment – no studying or textbooks allowed. Join us as we slow down and read. Free. All are welcome. No registration required. Bring a friend!
BONUS: Please join us for the next meeting of the University Book Club on Saturday, January 25 from 1-3 in Wilson Library. We will be discussing Babel by R.F. Kuang. All are welcome, even if you haven’t read the book!
