Winners announced in Student Photo Contest

Judges selected 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in the 2014 Student Photo Contest, sponsored by the Friends of the University of Minnesota Libraries. A fourth award, the Student Choice Award, was given to the student who had the most Facebook likes for his or her entry.

Although college libraries have the stigma of only being used for studying, students still use them for reading for fun. This photo depicts a student who has gotten so into the book she is reading, she feels she is really there in the book, forgetting all about the fact, that she is actually sitting in the library.
