Health librarians from the University of Minnesota Libraries will hold two special events this Friday, August 22, at the Minnesota State Fair. If you’re at the fair that day, please stop by and say hi!
See the details below:
Bio-Medical Library Exhibit
The Bio-Medical Library exhibit offers visitors a chance to test their medical knowledge and learn about trusted sources of health information.
Visit our librarians at the exhibit, where you can participate in a health information fact or fiction quiz – how much water should you drink in a day – and learn where to go to find the answer.
You can also attempt to identify interesting medical instruments of the past.
- Crossroads Building (aka University of Minnesota Building)
Friday, August 22
9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Wangensteen Historical Library Stage Show
Staff from the Wangensteen Historical Library of Biology and Medicine will host an engaging introduction to historical medical artifacts.
Learn about the weird, clever, and sometimes frightening instruments that doctors used in the past. Find out which instruments may still be in use today and take part in a challenge to determine the use for various tools from the past.
- Stage in front of the Crossroads Building (aka University of Minnesota Building)
Friday, August 22
10:00 a.m., 12:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m. (20 minute shows)
Hope to see you at the Great Minnesota Get Together!
