Librarian for Chicano/Latino Studies
Research on the Hispanic heritage of the United States is done at the Department of Chicano/Latino Studies. This department has a long history, going back to 1972. A meeting of the Chicano/Latino Studies librarian in 2011 with the family of the late Professor Guillermo Rojas (chair of the Dept. of Chicano/Latino Studies from 1983 to 2000) led to the donation of his papers to the University Archives.
In addition to the papers of Professor Rojas, the University Archives holds other material documenting the history of the Departkejt of Chicano/Latino Studies, including posters and programs of events. This material is available to researchers at the University Archives, located in the Elmer L. Andersen Library, on the West Bank of the Minneapolis campus.
