In the exhibition Residuals, an artist and a landscape architecture studio test, question, and respond to the extraordinary embedded in overlooked, liminal spaces of the city. The work revels in the ragged and documents change: mold, decay, entropy, growth, competition, failure, moisture, and resilience. Investigations into these forces take various forms from installation, casting, and collage, to film, photography, and drawing.

The exhibit opening reception takes place Wednesday, September 27, 2017.

About Regan Golden

Over the past two years, Golden has collected, drawn and photographed fragments of the urban prairie along Kasota Ponds in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Her altered photographs and drawings are inspired by the scrubby forests and ragged prairies that border subdivisions and highways. 

Regan Golden’s work has been exhibited in solo and group shows both nationally and internationally, including Harvard University’s Fisher Forestry Museum, The Cue Gallery in New York City and the Museum of Contemporary Photography in Chicago. She has received grants and fellowships from the Minnesota State Arts Board, The Jerome Foundation, The Core Program and The National Science Foundation.

In 2016-2017, Golden was an Artist-in-Residence at the College of Biological Sciences Conservatory and Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Art at the University of Minnesota.
