Nearly 200 students from around Minnesota took advantage of Gopherbaloo 2020 at Wilson Library January 11 to get a jump start on their National History Day project. And the bonus? They all got to hang with Goldy and Mooster!
National History Day is an inter-disciplinary research project for students in grades 6-12. History Day teaches students to:
- Conduct in-depth research
- Use primary and secondary sources
- Read a variety of texts
- Analyze and synthesize information
- Write and present historical content
The students were able to access the Libraries’ resources to strengthen their projects and to get 1-on-1 help from experts.
A special thanks to Rod Rasmussen, Alicia Kubas, Linda Mork, Ellen Engseth, Lace McMillin, Maggie Parra, Phil Dudas, and Kirsten Clark for helping out on a fun and busy day.
Gopherbaloo is sponsored by University Libraries and the Minnesota Historical Society.
