Hello again! Annie Hoffman here, Student Journalist for the libraries. As we head into April, I’m finding my footing as a Dance major in online classes. I’m also feeling really grateful for art. Here’s what I’ve been up to!
Taking my Modern class now starts with pushing the living room couch out of the way. Then I move the coffee table to the hallway and set up my laptop on the bookshelf. My instructor, peers, and I use Zoom to dance together. Our accompanist also joins us to provide live piano music! Here, fellow dance major Arcadia Langmead demonstrates the combination we’re learning.
Finding new rhythms
With work and school online, I am finding new daily rhythms. Did you know that university librarians are available to answer research questions at any time of the day or night? You can access the 24/7 chat service here.
Lastly, this painting hangs in Wilson Library. It’s one of my very favorites. I see it as a hopeful portrait of the future, after things have gotten worse and then started to get better again. I’m holding onto that narrative this week.
You’ll continue to hear from me as I dance and write my way through the rest of spring semester. Stay home, stay healthy, and keep reading!
