Name a Library Book Cart is back!

By January 31, 2025February 3rd, 2025No Comments

Name a Library book cart logo. The UMN Libraries (we see you MnDot) are once again inviting students, staff, faculty, alumni and the public to help us name one of our book carts!

Please submit your most witty, unique UMN, Gopher, Minnesota, library or book-themed ideas to name one of our *new* library carts.

Submissions will be accepted through end of the day on Friday, February 10.

This year’s contest includes a few basic rules:

  • Submissions are limited to no more than 30 characters (including letters and spaces).
  • Gosh darn it, nothing vulgar please.
  • Politically inspired names (including phrases, slogans or plays on politicians’ names) will not be considered. Naming book carts is meant to be fun and lighthearted, so we’re going to keep this contest nonpartisan and nonpolitical.
Finalists and voting will be announced in a few weeks. Follow @umnlib on instagram & @umnlibrarians on TikTok for updates! Please contact Lacie McMillin (mice0018@umn.edu) or Kate Peterson (katep@umn.edu) with questions, feedback or comments. AND good luck from last year’s winner: Dolly Carton!
