‘Contested Spaces’ is theme of 2014-2015 First Fridays

By August 25, 2014September 16th, 2023No Comments

First Fridays: Contested Spaces“Contested Spaces: Power in the Archives” is the theme of this year’s First Fridays series of presentations. Curators, archivists, and scholars from the University of Minnesota and beyond will explore the theme of power, a force that drives, changes, reforms, and challenges society.

Come and hear stories of how materials in Archives and Special Collections document hard questions, contested spaces, and transformational moments. Each month’s presentation is based on materials in the University Libraries’ Archives and Special Collections. This series is made possible by a generous gift in honor of Dr. Edward B. Stanford by Governor and Mrs. Elmer L. Andersen.

Each event is held the first Friday of each month, October through May, 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. in room 120 of Elmer L. Andersen Library.
