Faith in the Press: Jewish Printing and Printers in The Twin Cities, 1890-1950

Images and documents from the Upper Midwest Jewish Archives. Collage by exhibit designer Darren TerpstraFrom calling cards to report cards, letterhead to posters, the business of printing has provided steady work for printing companies for generations. But what if you wanted something printed in Yiddish or Hebrew?

For over six decades, Jewish letterpress printers in Minneapolis and St. Paul used hand-set type and manual presses to produce the reading material that their community needed. Come explore rare documents and objects from the Upper Midwest Jewish Archives that bring this printed history to life.
