We will be hosting a Libraries table at Row the Vote’s Voterpalooza on Tuesday, October 22nd from 11-1. We will be hosting voter button making, stickers and can help answer voting question. Did you know the Libraries have tools to help you research candidates and issues? Visit our Civic Engagement and voting library guide for links.

Remember, in Minnesota, you can register on election day or at your local elections office now.

To register in person, you will need to bring a form of identification. This includes:

  • A current college student ID OR
  • Your driver’s license OR
  • A photo ID AND a document showing your address (such as a utility bill, lease, etc) OR
  • A tribal ID OR
  • Another registered voter in Minnesota who can confirm your address so basically somebody who lives in your residence hall or dorm or apartment that can vouch for your residency (aka a fellow Gopher or friend or family member).

You can see more options for forms of identification.

Let’s explain this one more time….if you need to register on election day and you don’t have an ID:

you can have someone vouch for you in order to register. The voucher needs to be a registered Minnesota voter who knows you and can attest that you are a Minnesota resident. Your roommate, neighbor, colleague or someone else from your dorm are all examples of vouchers for you, as long as they are registered to vote.
