Celebrating the 40th anniversary of Prince’s “Purple Rain”!
Join us at Wilson Library on Thursday, Sept. 12 at 2 p.m. for a film screening of Purple Rain (view trailer on YouTube) from 1984. Everyone is welcome to join us at this free event, brought to you by the Music Library at the University of Minnesota!
Join us Monday, Sept. 9 through Thursday, Sept. 12 as we host the Music Library Open House in Ferguson Hall room 70 (view Music Library in 1 minute). Expand your musical horizons by exploring recordings and books about the discography of Prince, including listening stations throughout the library, and various displays to highlight the Music Library space and collections. The week-long event will conclude with a screening of Purple Rain, to be held in the Wilson Research Collaboration Studio. Also check out the #PurpleSyllabus with topics, readings, and multimedia related to Prince and Prince’s impact and influence.
