During this workshop you can expect to learn about the applications and limitations of 3D printing, how to safely and effectively operate a machine, and how to start your very own 3D print! Join us for an introductory CNC cutting workshop, where you'll learn to design and create a laser-cut, press-fit marble maze! In this hands-on session, you'll explore how to turn ideas into precise designs using CAD and vector graphics software, including Fusion 360 and Inkscape. We'll guide you through converting CAD sketches into vector designs, optimizing files for laser cutting, and a crash course on vector graphics software. Expect to leave with practical skills in CAD modeling, vector design, and CNC preparation — plus seeing your designs brought to life!

Every student experiences stress, and it’s important to find your strategies for taking care of yourself. In this workshop, we will use an app called Hoame to experience a guided meditation exercise. You will also learn how you can borrow a VR headset if you decide to make this part of your strategy. Meet with fellow learners on Zoom and learn how to use Zotero to create your own database of citations, PDFs, images, webpages, video and audio files and more. Zotero can then be used to create citations in a large number of citation styles which can be added to Google Docs, Microsoft Word and Libre Office. We will send a zoom link to students who are registered the day before the workshop.
