Bring your WRIT 1301 research, projects, and writing and get stuff done with your fellow Gophers. Librarians and Peer Research Consultants (a.k.a library research tutors) will be available for short consultations to help find credible sources for your project, narrow your research topic, understand how and why to search databases, evaluate sources you have found, and much more.

We will work in room 310 in Walter Library. Bring your laptop or we will have a few extras. We will have study breaks with snacks and treats.

ONLINE: Introduction to Zotero

Meet with fellow learners on Zoom and learn how to use Zotero to create your own database of citations, PDFs, images, webpages, video and audio files and more.  Zotero can then be used to create citations in a large number of citation styles which can be added to Google Docs, Microsoft Word and Libre Office.  We will send a zoom link to students who are registered the day before the workshop.

Join us for an introductory CNC cutting workshop, where you'll learn to design and create a laser-cut, press-fit marble maze! In this hands-on session, you'll explore how to turn ideas into precise designs using CAD and vector graphics software, including Fusion 360 and Inkscape. We'll guide you through converting CAD sketches into vector designs, optimizing files for laser cutting, and a crash course on vector graphics software. Expect to leave with practical skills in CAD modeling, vector design, and CNC preparation — plus seeing your designs brought to life!
