October 1, 2024 — Celebrating Walter Library at 100

Join us Tuesday, October 1, 6-8 p.m., for an open house to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Walter Library. We’ll have refreshments, tours of the building, opportunities to try out our makerspace and virtual reality technology, and time to hear from and interact with our expert librarians and archivists.

The event kicks off with a brief panel discussion about the past, present, and future of the U of M Libraries, which will touch on the history of Walter Library, the preservation of rare and unique items, and the increasing role of library technology in the lives of today’s students.

Following the conversation, attendees will have the opportunity to tour the building, interact 1-1 with staff, and enjoy refreshments provided at various locations in the library.
