Study space and service updates due to Walter Library closure

Finals are here! We want to share some additional study spaces and updates to services due to the closure of Walter Library, the Math Library and other campus buildings.

Peer Tutoring at Walter Library moved online

Prepare for your tests by spending time with a peer tutor! Additional tutoring hours are now available in person or online. Login and see when tutors are available for your classes.

All of our libraries have a variety of study spaces, printers and spots to relax in between finals or to finish up a project. We also have space to zoom or attend an online meeting.

Wilson Library on West Bank 

  • Largest library on campus with six floors of study spaces and 20+ study rooms (reserve for 2 hours per day).
  • Try the sensory-friendly study room or the reflection room.
  • The Studio is a large area on the first floor with floor-to-ceiling windows.
  • Wilson is open Monday-Thursday 8 a.m.-10 p.m.; Friday 8 a.m.-6 p.m.; Saturday 10 a.m.-6 p.m.; Sunday noon-10 p.m.

Health Sciences Library on the East Bank 

  • The Health Sciences Library is the newest library stretched between two buildings with study spaces on many floors. Bring your UCard.
  • Health Sciences is open Monday-Thursday 8 a.m.-9 p.m.; Friday 8 a.m.-6 p.m.; Saturday noon-6 p.m.; Sunday noon-9 p.m.
  • Take a study break in the 5th floor Makerspace (free crafting, button making, etc.) or Virtual Reality Studio (Beat Saber, Meditation in VR, etc.) open Wednesday noon-5 p.m.; Thursday noon-7 p.m.; Friday noon-5 p.m.

Magrath Library in St. Paul

  • Magrath Library is the biggest library on the St. Paul campus.
  • It has lots of windows and is the place to go to study with plants!
  • Magrath is open Monday-Thursday 8 a.m.-9 p.m.; Friday 8 a.m.-6 p.m.; Saturday noon-6 p.m.; Sunday noon-9 p.m.

Music Library on West Bank

  • The Music Library is in the basement level of Ferguson Hall with an interior courtyard with windows!
  • You can sometimes hear the practice pianos while studying!
  • Music is open Monday-Friday 9:00 a.m.-5 p.m.; closed Saturday and Sunday.

Architecture Library on East bank

  • The Architecture Library on east bank is a hidden gem on campus. It is on the second floor on Rapson Hall and is a very modern, light filled space.
  • Architecture is is open Monday-Friday 9:00 a.m.-5 p.m.; closed Saturday and Sunday.

Late Night Studying

  • Magrath Library in St. Paul has an extended study area which is open on Monday-Thursday 7-2 a.m.; Friday 7 a.m.-midnight; Saturday 10 a.m.-midnight; Sunday 10-2 a.m. Bring your Ucard.
  • Health Sciences Library’s quiet study area on the fifth floor of the Health Science Education Building is open until midnight

Stop by Tea & Treats on Wednesday, May 1 and Thursday, May 2 from 11:00am-2:00pm at our service desk on the 5th floor. Grab a cup of tea, a treat and free ear plugs.
