Discover how virtual reality can enhance your learning and be applied during the design process or to showcase work. This workshop is for anyone but would be useful for College of Design students in particular. In this workshop, you will learn how to convert a Sketchup model into a virtual environment, sketch in 3D using Open Brush and Gravity Sketch, and you will hear about various apps for design: Sentio VR, Arkio, and more!

Toaster workshop: Podcasting 101

If you've ever wanted to learn about audio recording or podcasts, this is the workshop for you! Come learn about the different types of audio equipment you can use to record (including ones for free checkout at the U of M Libraries!) as well as methods for planning, preparing for, and editing your recordings. Staff will be on hand to answer questions, do small demos, and provide you with resources to use as you embark on your audio adventure. Podcasting 101 will be a hybrid workshop.

Dance Roots: Exhibit reception and book reading

Join us Friday, Oct. 27 for the opening reception of Dance Roots: Minnesota’s Movers and Shakers, an exhibit celebrating the breadth and depth of Minnesota's dance community preserved in the University’s Performing Arts Archives. Enjoy refreshments as you mix and mingle over this rare exhibition. A reading of the new book Grace & Grit with the author Georgia Finnegan will begin at 6:30 p.m. Please register if you plan to attend the event.
