Students are core to the University, and their voices matter. Students have always fought for what they believe, even when people in positions of power undermine them. In this exhibit, see how student organizations have communicated over the years. These visual representations of student life have survived decades and now tell us more about who people were, what communities they represented, and what role they played in shaping campus life.
Disembodied Reembodied, a new exhibit at the Wangensteen Historical Library, addresses medical depictions of women’s bodies in the library collection and will also feature take-home zines and interactive online content. The Phillips-Wangensteen Building (PWB) requires either a U Card (for UMN affiliates) or an appointment confirmation for access.

Du Bois’ Brownies’ Book to the Caldecott Award-winning “Snowy Day” to the work of Ezra Jack Keats Award recipients. Learn how to use BrowZine, a tool to create your own virtual reading room of your favorite journals. You’ll also learn how to set up database and journal alerts to keep up on published scholarship in your field.
This webinar showcases four innovative PhD dissertation projects on Finnish North American history and heritage. The speakers will present new approaches from the perspectives of history, folklore studies, linguistics, and literature.
Meet with fellow learners on Zoom and learn how to use Zotero to create your own database of citations, PDFs, images, webpages, video and audio files and more. Zotero can then be used to create citations in a large number of citation styles which can be added to Google Docs, Microsoft Word and Libre Office. We will send a zoom link to students who are registered the day before the workshop.
