The Migration Institute of Finland and the University of Minnesota’s Immigration History Research Center Archives (IHRCA) have collaborated to digitally connect the archives of Kaarle Hjalmar Lehtinen. In this webinar, the project team will introduce the collaboration and the connected and newly digitized Lehtinen collections. Please register by April 15 to receive the Zoom link.
Join Archives & Special Collections for a pop-up exhibit in Andersen 120 on the occasion of Shakespeare Day — April 23! We’ll feature items honoring the life and legacy of William Shakespeare, including stage architecture, costume design, theatrical scrapbooks, and modern and historical interpretations of his plays and poetry.

Join us on April 27 for an evening of learning about the myths of Jewish migration, as viewed through the life story of David Blumenfeld, whose papers are archived in the Upper Midwest Jewish Archives. Guests will enjoy presentations by two of Blumenfeld’s family members, Professor Deborah Hertz and Frederick Hertz, with introductory remarks by Robert Hertz. Blumenfeld’s original manuscripts and his self-published books will be on display.
Join us on April 29 for a special book talk and exhibit focused on the life and work of modernist architect Elizabeth Scheu Close. Author Jane King Hession will discuss her recent book — relaunching now in its paperback edition — “Elizabeth Scheu Close: A Life in Modern Architecture.” Guests will enjoy a reception with light refreshments, and an exclusive opportunity to view photos, architectural illustrations, and other documents about Elizabeth Scheu Close.
