I am excited to share with you the Fiscal Year 2024 annual impact report. This report covers the year from July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024.

The dedication and expertise of our staff advances the University’s academic mission and positively impacts scholars from Minnesota and around the world. Their work is clearly evident in the pages that follow.

Some highlights include:

  • Continuing to lower the costs associated with student course materials
  • Partnering with health sciences schools in training the next generation of doctors, nurses, and pharmacists
  • Fostering creativity and entrepreneurship in our Toaster Innovation Hub
  • Sharing our expertise and resources with K-12 educators and students
  • Training hundreds of academic librarians across the country in comprehensive research practices
  • Advancing open access to research
  • Collaborating with our Big 10 colleagues on plans to create one shared collection that would be the largest library collection in North America
  • Continuing to provide critical resources to libraries and patrons across Minnesota thanks to Minitex, a joint program of the Minnesota Office of Higher Education and the University of Minnesota Libraries.

There’s so much more to learn about our accomplishments over this past year and I invite you to share your comments with me after you have read through the remaining pages of this report.

Thank you for your support of and your engagement with the University of Minnesota Libraries. Onward we go as we propel into this exciting future.

Warm regards,
Lisa German
